A true collectable, this beautifully shabby but structuraly sound and still stunning art metal jewellery casket, originated in Japan approximately 1930s (perhaps earlier).
With stunning detail still crisp, it exterior does have areas of the silver plate worn away from decades of use, revealing the copper underneath, giving it a charming warmth and depth. The interior still holds the original pink silk lining and some padding, however the inside of the lid has long been bare. The hinges are working well with no damage and the feet are straight and stable.
A lovely little starter to an antique jewellery casket collection.
